A Sunday in Nanlong

Two Sundays ago (Feb. 23) was the first time we had church with everyone. The way church works here is that all the people from my group, the Kayin group and the Nanlong group get together at the Kayin apartments and we Skype into church. We only watch Sacrament meeting, but we generally have a thought/lesson before church also.

Since the Nanlong group came, I finally got to see Korrin!

When church was over, Chrissy and I ended up going back to Nanlong with Korrin and her group. I took my first rickshaw ride to their apartment (where Chrissy was last year). The driver seemed to enjoy himself as he started purposely zigzagging at the end :)

After stopping by their apartment, we found and tried some sugar cane. You just buy a whole stalk, bite off a chunk, chew the juice out, and then spit the remaining plant out. The entire stalk of sugar cane (taller than the average person) cost about $1 USD.

Chrissy had a great time seeing several people she knew from last year. And we bumped into these two cute girls that the Nanlong girls have gotten massages from. They were very happy to see us and take pictures.

After that we walked through the Sunday market a little and Chrissy had us try some delicious street bread.

Fresh baked bread- yum!
